I put a new quote every day on my board at the high school. Sometimes I'll choose the quote based on the topic we are covering in class that day or sometimes to make them think about a new idea. Other times the purpose of the quote will just be to make them smile.
I used to think that it didn't matter to them, but now the students let me know right away if I forget to change the quote of the day. Many even write them down.
I find quotes everywhere and keep a book of my favorites. But I also have books that I have purchased and ones that past students have bought me to look towards for inspiration. |
