This activity works best to practice vocabulary. On top of each desk, put an index card with a vocabulary word on it, a definition, a picture, etc. Each card has a number written on the back of it (I write the number as a Spanish word) and students have answer sheets numbered 1-25, (if you have 25 desks in the room. The cards are on the desks out of order. Students start at their desk and eventually move to each desk to get the other answers in a snake like pattern (up and down each row).
The number on the card tells them where to write it on their answer sheet. They write the translation of the vocabulary word, or describe what the picture is on their sheet. I play a song in the background when they have to change seats. Depending on how much the have to write, I give them as little as 15 seconds or as much as 1 minute to write their answers. Answers can be gone over by the students, who share the answer of the card that is on their desk, or teacher can give answers.
