______

"Never Leave Anything Blank"

Cynthia Watson

I give a ticket (such as a raffle ticket) for every assignment that is COMPLETE.  It is not based on the grade.  Its purpose is to encourage students to try something.

I put the duplicate ticket (the other half) in a bucket for each individual class.  We do a ticket drawing every three weeks.  The students are responsible for hanging onto their tickets.  Their name is not on either ticket, so when I draw one, they have to see if they have their number.  They must keep their tickets organized.

We roll dice to to determine how many winning tickets there will be.

If a student has the winning ticket, they get to choose from a "candy bucket" of snack size candy bars.  The candy is not big, but winning is.

Any tickets that were not drawn are still good for future drawings through the term.
