Fact of the Day
 

Each day when students come into my class, I will have a fact written on the board.

This is a great introduction to class, discussion of a point/topic, etc.

Facts are very easy to find.  I like to use yahoo-funny facts. 

In my classes, it is to the point where students often bring in there own "FOD" (fact of the day), for bonus points.
