Izzit.org is one of my favorite website/resources to use.  It is a site that provides current events, lessons, games, and even the occasional free video/DVD.  Why did they name the site izzit?  As taken from the site;

“iz-zit (iz'-it) is a derivative of the word izzat, which means    respect... something every teacher should have. izzit in your classroom?!”

I subscribe to their daily current events email which provides interesting discussion to use with my students.  They even provide questions to go with each daily lesson.  I don’t always use the event sent to me but it offers another avenue to provide my students with real-time information.  Most of the daily articles/lessons sent are very thought provoking.   

This site is very much worth checking out.  It definitely keeps things fun and relevant in the classroom….at any level! (click on the “games and contests” link)
