"Text Notes"
 

The New York State 8th grade ELA (English/Language Arts) test has a listening section that requires notetaking.  It seems to be a difficult task for many students because they want to write complete sentences (of course they don't in their papers when you want them to).

To help students save time and get more information in their notes, I encourage them to use "text messaging" language. 

They love it and they are happy to share any of the abbreviations with you that you are unaware of!!!!
