Get Ready ... You're Up!
 

I was tired of students not participating and "zoning out", so at the beginning of the year, my students write their name and five facts that I don't know about them...on notecards.

I use the cards when I am asking questions before or after a lesson.  This way, students are not "put on the spot".  I give students a minute or two to formulate an answer. 

All students should have an answer.
