As an introduction into Romeo's speech in Act 2, I go around the "reading oval" asking the students (each in turn) what is most important to you at this point in your life.
Sample answers are family, friends, pets, a sport team, music, etc. Usually, I get one student who will respond "me". I can then transfer what they've shared (experienced) to what Romeo is saying - Juliet is his whole world. |
